It’s been a busy summer!

I finished The Burning of Saint-Gilles back in February, following two rounds of professional editing and thoughtful feedback from a group of generous Beta readers. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who’s encouraged me along the way—your support means the world.

Now comes the next step: selling the book. There are two main paths forward—traditional publishing or self-publishing. Each has its own pros and cons, and I've decided to give traditional publishing a real shot first. If that doesn’t pan out, I’ll shift gears to self-publishing. Should that happen, I’ll share all the details, including the possibility of a Kickstarter campaign. For now, we wait and see how the traditional route unfolds.

No matter which publishing path we end up on, one thing remains the same: this book needs to be marketed. That’s what my team and I have been focused on this summer—launching the website, setting up a newsletter, and getting our social media accounts ready. We’re gearing up for a full-on marketing push this fall. If you’d like to follow along, you can find us here:

At the same time, I'm hard at work submitting the book to literary agents. My goal is to send at least 100 queries (we’re already 25% of the way there!) as part of a broader strategy timed with our marketing efforts. If that doesn’t lead to a deal, Plan B—self-publishing—is scheduled for 2026. I’ll be updating the stats below so you can track the progress in real time.

Meanwhile, I've started writing a Baldur’s Gate 3 fanfic, set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons. If that’s your thing, you’ll be able to read it on Archive of Our Own (AO3)—no account required to read!

Why am I sharing this?

A couple of reasons! First, if you’re following The Burning of Saint-Gilles, I want you to know I'm still hard at work trying to get it published—these updates are proof that the fire’s still burning. Second, I believe in being transparent about the publishing journey. By sharing these updates, I hope to give you a clearer picture of what the process actually looks like.

Note: check back in the fall for updates; submissions are on pause until our social media campaign is up and running at full speed 🙂
