FAN FICTION

This retelling of Baldur’s Gate 3 keeps the same faces and places you know, while lingering on the moments I wanted more of: relationships that are messy, deeper interactions with the people of Faerûn, and more grounded, realistic reactions to the events of the game. The story weaves in expanded D&D lore and incorporates images captured in photo mode. Romance is present, but so is genuine love between friends and found family, building upon the foundation created by Larian.

This fic began as an emotional outlet for me. I began writing it in 2025, when my 9-5 science career was in turmoil, and I needed an escape. Fiodhan is a faithful expression of who I am as a person, and naturally, as a nerd, I fell head over heels for Gale. What follows is my manifestation of life and love in BG3.

Fiodhan, a druid living in Baldur’s Gate, is summoned to investigate an oil spill in the harbor and instead finds himself at the center of an alien invasion. Follow him through the events of the game as he forms lasting bonds with an unlikely group of companions. Sit with them by the campfire. Enjoy the quiet moments, the shitty days, the laughs, and all the love while you watch them try to save Faerûn, and themselves.
